In the ongoing effort to change my perspective to a positive one, become grateful for the little things, and not waste energy hanging onto anger and disappointment I have turned to an expert in these matters.

RRUFF Dog Park in Rocklin will be closed Jan 7-9 for a Special Construction Project

RRUFF Dog Park in Rocklin will be closed Jan 7-9 for a Special Construction Project

RRUFF has an important message for you.  The RRUFF Dog Park located at Johnson-Springview Park in Rocklin will be temporarily closed from Monday, January 7 through Wednesday, January 9.  The park will re-open Thursday, Jan 10.

The reason for closure is to begin Phase 1 of a special construction project that will make the dog park more accessible to our disabled park users.   Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, members, donors and other supporters in 2012, RRUFF raised enough money to begin the First phase of this special project that will improve and enhance this wonderful dog park and make it accessible to those who normally would not be able to bring their four-legged companions to socialize and play with other dogs.

For more information about RRUFF or to to follow our progress, visit our website at www.rruffdogpark.org  You can

Blind pug robbed by diabetes struggles for surgery

Blind pug robbed by diabetes struggles for surgery

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A Sacramento pug rescue group is reaching out to animal lovers in hopes of providing a much needed surgery for one of their precious pugs.

Eight year-old Mija (Mee-ha) is a playful pug who loves to snuggle. She was rescued by PugSavers, a Northern California pug rescue group, after her owner, who loved her dearly couldn't afford special care for her diabetes. Mija's foster family has been taking great care of her until she finds her forever home, but recently her condition has worsened causing blindness in both of her eyes.

It has been recommended by a specialist that both of Mija's eyes be removed to help with her diabetes and alleviate what has now become a painful condition.

The Sacramento Bee says the kitten was only a few weeks old when she was found in August by fire crews who battled a 75,000-acre fire in the Plumas National Forest.

The bobcat, which had burned paws, would follow the crew and nuzzle their boots. Named Chips, she was taken to the Sierra Wildlife Rescue in Placerville last month.

Greyhound missing in El Dorado Hills

Greyhound missing in El Dorado Hills

A miniature (Italian) Greyhound is missing. He was spotted on Friday in El Dorado Hills, specifically the Ridgeview neighborhood. He was seen in the hills just above Via Travsio Lane.

His name is Cairo. He is a male. Cairo is wearing a red and black plaid coat. He weighs about 15 lbs and looks just like a regular greyhound, only much smaller in size. He is primarily grey/seal with a white chest and white legs. He is microchipped.

Cairo is a very skittish dog. He will not poke his head out much until he absolutely can't take it anymore. He is far more likely to be wandering around neighborhoods close to the hills and more of a rural setting.

If you see this dog, please, please, please, immediately call.916.538.8350 or 916.337.5720.

Bless you for taking the time to read and help.
