It is a city where stories are created, stories that come to life on a screen and allow viewers the chance to escape their everyday lives for a bit. In this beautifully written biography, author Gaelyn Whitley Keith introduces readers to her great-grandfather, HJ Whitley, The Father of Hollywood.

Rosanne Cash performance at Three Stages SOLD OUT

Rosanne Cash performance at Three Stages SOLD OUT

Rosanne Cash puts it this way: “When I was 18, I was on the road with my dad. One day, we were sitting in the tour bus, talking about songs, and he mentioned a song and I said, ‘I don’t know that one.’ He mentioned another one, and I said, ‘I don’t know that one, either.’ Then he started to get alarmed, so he spent the rest of the day making a list on a legal pad, and at the top he put “100 Essential Country Songs.” And he handed it to me and he said, ‘This is your education.’”

“Not only was it her education,” notes Three Stages Executive Director Dave Pier. “That list from Johnny Cash formed the basis for “The List,” her latest recording. And from that list will come the songs Rosanne Cash will perform here in Folsom.”

Rosanne Cash will perform in Three Stages on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 7:30 pm. The concert is sold out.

Three Stages is a $50 million performing and visual arts center that opened in February.

Folsom Lake College is pulling out all the stops to celebrate Three Stages’ opening, with a performance of the legendary Broadway musical, “A Chorus Line,” followed by after-parties until midnight.
