Kaiser Permanente awards more than $70,000 to nonprofit organizations serving Folsom

Kaiser Permanente awards more than $70,000 to nonprofit organizations serving Folsom

Kaiser Permanente has awarded 56 grants totaling nearly $1.5 million to 54 local not-for-profit organizations, schools and government entities serving the greater Sacramento community. That includes at least three for organizations specifically serving the Folsom community. Those grants total about $70,000.

The Community Benefit grants – which range in individual amounts from $5,000 to $97,304 – are part of a longstanding practice for Kaiser Permanente, the region’s leading integrated health-care provider, which works to improve the health of the communities it serves in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado counties. Overall, the grants seek to improve access to medical care, support mental health services, reduce violence, develop the workforce and promote healthy eating and active living.

The largest allocation of funding will help the uninsured and underinsured access health care programs and services at various community clinics and organizations.
