ORANGEVALE, Calif. - A suspected truck thief's attempt to evade capture ended unsuccessfully in Orangevale Tuesday morning.

Folsom police officers located the man driving the stolen vehicle early on Tuesday and attempted to pull him over but he fled, according to police on scene.

Sacramento County sheriff's deputies and Citrus Heights police officers joined in on the pursuit which reached speeds up to 70 mph.

The unidentified driver eventually stopped the truck in the area of Hazel Ave. and Oak Ave. and fled on foot into Orangevale Community Park, said police.

Officers surrounded the park and dispatched a K9 to locate the suspected thief. He was found and brought out around 3:29 a.m. without further incident.
