Keep Household Drains Fat Free this Holiday Season

Remember to properly dispose of all fats, oils and grease after the big holiday meal

Sacramento, CA - Sewer blockages and backups increase by up to 50 percent during the holidays. Leftover food put down kitchen sinks and garbage disposals contributes to increased sewer clogs. People can avoid potentially messy problems and holiday havoc by properly disposing of fats, oils and grease.

When poured down the sink, fats, oils and grease accumulate in sewer pipes restricting flow and ultimately causing blockages and backups in homes and neighborhoods.

Cool and beautify your home - naturally

Cool and beautify your home - naturally

Not only do trees beautify your home and neighborhood, they can help to dramatically reduce cooling costs during the hot summer months. Sacramento County residents are eligible for up to 10 free trees through the Sacramento Shade tree program, a partnership between Sacramento Tree Foundations and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). Businesses, parks and schools in the SMUD service area are also eligible for free SMUD shade trees.

Sacramento Shade customers can choose from over 30 deciduous trees (deciduous trees shed their leaves in the fall to allow the warm winter sun into your home).
