M&M Senior Living Open House in Orangevale on Wednesday, 7/15!

Owners of M&M Senior Living, a new and unique 16-bed assisted living facility in Orangevale, are hosting a complimentary Open House on Wednesday evening, July 15, from 4 to 8 p.m.   In addition to its boutique size and welcoming feel, what sets it apart is that one of the business owners is a family physician -- Dr. Mark DeBruin -- who has a medical practice nearby, helps to oversee the facility and stops by on a nearly daily or as-needed basis.

Offering a high quality of care for residents, a few highlights of M&M Senior Living include the following:

Aftershock: A Love Story for 19,000 Rock and Metal Fans

Aftershock: A Love Story for 19,000 Rock and Metal Fans

Discovery Park, Sacramento - The heat was stifling and the dust was enough to make any contact-wearer’s eyes flood. Dirt caked the ripped jean vests and sweaty faces of the crowd; regardless of the drought driven conditions, over 19,000 people flocked to Sacramento’s Discovery Park this weekend to thrash, mosh, and headbang to genre and decade-spanning rock.

I made my way to my first show of Saturday: Pepper. It was a classic Sacramento Summer day. The heat accompanying the blend of rock and reggae, with that wonderful ground-shaking bass in full effect and felt full-force from even the very back of the crowd.

2014 Weekly Challenge #8: Eat your (VEGGIE) Soup!

2014 Weekly Challenge #8: Eat your (VEGGIE) Soup!

2014 Weekly Challenge #8: Eat your (VEGGIE) Soup!

One of the the best things you can do for your body is fuel it right, and there's nothing better than veggies.

In the winter, at least for me, it gets a little harder to get in all 7 to 9 servings of vegetables my body needs. When it is cold and rainy outside, and all I want is comfort food, a salad or crunchy carrots just doesn't seem to fit the bill.

That's where this soup comes in. Warm and delicious, and versatile enough to enjoy as a snack or a full meal, veggie soup is comfort good that it good for your body.

We all have them...the voices in our heads that come up with amazing reasons not to work out,  to procrastinate on a project, or to avoid someone we promised to spend time with. These voices are excuses, and we really all do have them and heed them more than we should.

How are your excuses preventing you from living your best life?  How do your excuses steal your Mojo?

If you are having a hard time getting motivated, or staying motivated, take a look at why. What are YOUR excuses and why are you sabotaging yourself?
