7 self-awareness questions to aid student success

7 self-awareness questions to aid student success

With the 2016-2017 school year upon us, preparing our students to start off strong is a necessity that must not be overlooked. School supplies and school clothes are definitely great but if we neglect to help our students become more self-aware, we'll be making a tragic mistake. Business genius, Gary Vaynerchuk says, "Self-Awareness is the game...when you know yourself, you win". I like to say, "When you know yourself, success is more easily attained. As the father of a 1st grader, 8th grader and 9th grader, I desire for my children to be successful. As the oldest of 7 brothers and sisters, I want my younger siblings to be successful. As a #StudentSuccessCoach of 15 years, it is a need for me to see our students start this year off with more confidence than ever before and be extremely successful.

Science Camp Preview Day

Science Camp Preview Day

Twenty-five eighth graders from Merryhill and Courtyard Middle schools came out last Wednesday May 14th to the Health Science Camp headquarters at California Northstate University in the Laguna West area of Elk Grove.

The middle school kids learned fingerprint techniques, and had their own prints taken by a Department of Justice official.  They also were taught how to take blood pressure readings and other vital signs on a Laerdal human simulator robot, which will be a lab section taught at the Camp this coming June 16-20.

Check out the visit photos on the website for California Northstate University at: www.cnsu.edu/science-camp.
